10 k.: Blue + Purple
Dogs & Trail Access
Dog owners are asked to please remain on the trails marked as dog trails. Please keep dogs leashed and under control at all times.
Note
The 11k expert course crosses Pilgrim road twice at the same point. The starting interval length will be adjusted to ensure that all dog teams are across the road and on the Pilgrim loop before the first teams begin heading back across the road to the finish. Slower teams that do not make it across before the first teams begin returning may be stopped to allow the faster dogs to pass through the short botteneck.
Pilgrim Trails
The Purple (Pilgrim road) trail used for the 10 k expert race is narrow and twisty. Though fairly flat, there are numerous 90-degree turns and several (short) bridges to be navigated. Experienced skiers who are racing with one dog should have no problem navigating the trail. Skiers racing with two dogs should be skilled and be racing with well-trained dogs.
